Threads of Change: Rachelle Castro Weaves Dreams into Tahi at Limbag

You might picture something practical and straightforward when you think of tote bags. But for Ms. Rachelle Castro, the founder of Tahi at Limbag, a tote bag is more than that—it’s a convenient way to carry your everyday essentials and a platform for expression, allowing individuals to custom-make their artistic imaginations come true.

Tahi at Limbag wasn’t built with significant investment or a team of experts—it started with Rachelle Castro doing everything with the help of her family. When her family’s computer shop closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Rachelle, still a student at the time, took it upon herself to help her family find a new source of income.

She initially tried selling plants, but after facing some tough setbacks, that idea didn’t work out. Out of this setback, Tahi at Limbag was born—a business driven by her creativity and determination to support her family.

“I’ve always wanted to start a unique business, something different from the usual pandemic products like food, clothing, or medical supplies that dominated the online market. A tote bag was the first idea that came to my mind, so I decided to create tote bags that could conveniently carry everyday essentials in style”.

“I chose tote bags because they’re universal—practical, stylish, and something everyone can enjoy,” Castro added.

Crafting Quality and Trust

At Tahi at Limbag, their commitment to quality craftsmanship is at the heart of everything they do. Specifically, from every stitch to every print, they ensure that each tote bag is made with the utmost care and attention to detail. Moreover, their bags are handmade from scratch, using only the finest raw materials. As a result, clients can always rely on them for on-time delivery, even for bulk orders and tight deadlines, without ever compromising on quality.

In addition, Tahi at Limbag exclusively uses thick canvas for its tote bags, earning clients’ trust from small startups to large brands. Furthermore, the durability of their prints is another hallmark; each print is applied multiple times using professional-grade machines to ensure it stands the test of time.

Additionally, customizable add-ons are available, including labels, inner lining, magnetic snaps, metal zippers, and keychain holders. Consequently, each add-on is priced individually, allowing customers to personalize their bags to fit their needs.

Stitching a Vision: Castro’s Journey of Growth with Tahi at Limbag

As her business grows, so do her plans for the future. Castro is excited about expanding Tahi at Limbag—whether it’s offering new designs or launching an online store to reach more customers.

Her advice for aspiring young entrepreneurs? “Just start. Don’t be afraid to start your own business, because taking risks is part of the process. If it’s meant for you, everything will fall into place.”

Tahi at Limbag has five to six seamstresses, two cutters, and two to three trimmers. These numbers symbolize a milestone for Castro’s business. Moreover, her family also helps with the company.

Rachelle Castro is not only dedicated to Tahi at Limbag but also works as a virtual assistant. This dual role allows her to balance her entrepreneurial ambitions while providing additional support for her family. With Tahi at Limbag, Rachelle empowers her family, becoming as influential as her parents.

Through her creative business, she not only provides financial support but also inspires resilience and innovation within her household. By turning challenges into opportunities, Castro demonstrates that strength and capability can flourish in unexpected circumstances, allowing her to stand alongside her parents as a pillar of support for the family.

Tahi at Limbag is more than just a tote bag brand—it’s a story woven from passion, creativity, and purpose. With a commitment to sustainability and support for local artisans, Castro proves that style and ethics can go hand in hand.
