More space in your carry-on means more room for the things you actually want to bring on your trip.
Starting September 15, 2026, passengers flying on Cebu Pacific (5J) flights can bring up to 10kg of total hand carry items, an increase from the previous 7kg allowance. The updated policy gives travelers more flexibility, whether they are packing for a quick weekend getaway, a longer vacation, or an international trip.
Passengers who booked their Cebu Pacific flights before September 15 can still enjoy the updated 10kg hand carry allowance for eligible 5J flights once the new policy takes effect. Meanwhile, flights operated by Cebgo (DG) will continue to have a 7kg total hand carry allowance.
What can you bring on board?
Under the updated policy, passengers can bring a maximum of two hand carry pieces on board: one hand carry bag that can be placed in the overhead bin and one personal item that fits under the seat.
The allowed sizes are:
- Hand carry baggage: up to 56cm × 36cm × 23cm
- Personal item: up to 20cm × 35cm × 20cm
The combined weight of the two items should not exceed the 10kg allowance. Passengers should also be able to comfortably lift and store their hand carry luggage themselves.
With an additional 3kg allowance, travelers now have a little more breathing room when packing their essentials. And yes, that could mean an extra outfit or two for your next trip, especially for those who like to plan their OOTDs before heading to the airport.
Just remember to keep your bags within the allowed weight, size, and number of pieces to avoid having them checked in at the airport.

Why the extra 3kg matters
For many travelers, an extra 3kg can make a difference. It can mean more space for clothes, gadgets, travel essentials, or even those last-minute items you usually have to leave behind.
The updated allowance can also benefit different types of travelers, from budget-conscious flyers and weekend explorers to business travelers, balikbayans, and passengers taking short trips who prefer to travel without checked baggage.
As a low-cost airline, Cebu Pacific continues to look for ways to make every Juan’s travel plans more convenient while keeping flying accessible. The increased hand carry allowance is one small change that can make packing and getting through the airport a little easier.
Cebu Pacific says the updated policy will also help its crew manage baggage more efficiently, make boarding smoother, and support on-time pre-departure procedures.
Passengers whose hand carry items exceed the allowed weight or size limits will need to check them in, subject to applicable baggage fees. Those who need additional baggage can purchase or add an allowance through the Manage Booking portal using their MyCebuPacific accounts.
Online check-in is also available through the Cebu Pacific website and mobile app. Passengers without checked baggage can use this option to save time at the airport and proceed directly to their assigned boarding gates.
So, whether you’re packing for a quick beach escape, an overseas adventure, or simply want to bring more OOTDs for your next trip, the new 10kg hand carry allowance gives Cebu Pacific passengers a little more room to pack what they need for the journey ahead.
